Brick: I wonder how Misery is doing.
Lena: I'm guessing you like her, da? *fluffing her pillow*
Brick: I truly do. But she has this thing called....nymphomania?
Lena: *tilts head* What's that?
Brick: Some mental illness. She constantly wants sex.
Lena: Oh I see.
Brick: It was weird at first. She's very tempting.
Lena: From your point of view, it would be...
Brick: And she's always....in the mood...
Lena: Oh. Is that good or bad?
Brick: I dunno for sure. Do you have someone to care for?
Lena: *shakes head* Not really.
Brick: Well I also love my Naomi too.
*points at gun*
Lena: *laughs* It seems all male Heavies love their guns!
Brick: Before then, I loved football. I loved grinding opponenets into the dirt and watching them writhe in pain. Then I found Naomi!

Layla: Thanks. I try my best to keep it nice.

Layla: Not really. We got curious when we were sent to the same team, but we got over it.

To depression, for creating days without endWake up to the realization that you've been awake
for seconds, minutes, hours.
You've been awake in this warm, dark room
and you don't know how long it's been
but now you're conscious
and it starts again--
the pain, strong and steady, in your chest.
You gain consciousness in this too warm morning
and your thoughts whir in endless loops
because it's either that or face the weight in your chest.
Light breaks though the window, soft and unwelcome
but you take it as a reluctant gift--
a new distraction from the feelings awake in your chest.
Awake, but not conscious.
So you think yourself in circles a little while longer
waiting for those quiet pains
(the constant reminder)
to gain consciousness.
